Our Wedding

Elisabeth first met Jessie when she was interviewing at WLFI-TV in Lafayette, Indiana. Jessie was the weekend meteorologist at the time. As Elisabeth was given her station tour, she was introduced to Jessie in the weather center for the first time. Both say they remember that exact moment when they met. That day, Elisabeth was hired to be the weekend anchor, alongside Jessie.

How We Met

From the moment they met, Elisabeth and Jessie were inseparable. Jessie eventually took a job in Fort Wayne, Indiana, two hours away from Elisabeth. For the next two years, the two would make the two hour drive back and forth on weekends. The distance between them didn't stop them from having fun. From attending Pacers games and Blackhawks games (where they managed to sneak down to the 13th row), to vacations to Chicago and Traverse City, they always made sure to make the most of their time together.

The Dating Game 

On Labor Day weekend, Elisabeth and Jessie planned to head to Chicago to spend time with her family. Little did Elisabeth know, Jessie had something up his sleeve. A ring, to be exact, which he bought back in July. After shopping all day, Jessie asked Elisabeth if she'd like to go for a walk along Lake Michigan. Elisabeth almost said no, because she was so tired from walking around all day. He eventually convinced her and they went for a sunset walk. As they were walking right near the Planetarium, Jessie told Elisabeth to turn around and look at the beautiful sunset behind the skyline. As she turned her back to Jessie, he got down on one knee. When Elisabeth turned back around, she was speechless and started to cry, as Jessie asked her to be his wife. Her family, in the meantime, was hiding, taking pictures of the moment they'll never forget.

The Proposal 

Elisabeth and Jessie now live in Kansas City. Jessie is the morning and noon meteorologist at KCTV5, and Elisabeth is a reporter for the lifestyle TV show, Better Kansas City. They stay busy taking care of their two dogs, Jaxson and Johnny, and preparing for the upcoming wedding. They look forward to seeing everyone in October!

A 12-acre Japanese garden located in Rockford. It's a beautiful place to enjoy the fall scenery!

Anderson Japanese Gardens

A great place for handcrafted food and beer. Home to the original Rockford Brewing Company, the building was one of the first breweries in the nation, pumping out over 75,000 barrels a year.

Prairie Street Brewhouse

Enjoy delicious food and drinks while practicing your golf swing. The restaurant is connected to a driving range and golf store.
