What time do the festivities kick off?
The ceremony will start promptly at 6pm CST - we ask guests to arrive by 5:30p as doors will be closed at 6p. Cocktails will start at 7pm. After festivities conclude, guests are more than welcome to join the bride and groom for a drink afterwards at Hotel Zaza.
When are we eating?
Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be served at 7, dinner will be served at 8. We recognize this is on the later side, so we recommend grabbing a late lunch before the ceremony begins. Houston is a town known for it's food; if you need any recommendations, feel free to reach out to the Bride/Groom. We'd be more than happy to share our favorite places!
What is the address of the venue?
The ceremony is at St. Paul's United Methodist Church at 5501 Main St. Houston, TX, 77004. The reception is at the Museum of Natural Sciences at 5555 Hermann Park Dr Houston, TX 77030.
How are we getting around?
The church is very short walk from the museum (about 10 minutes). In case of weather or uncomfortable shoes, Ubers in Houston are easy to find. For transportation to downtown or other areas of Houston, the church and museum are both located very near a MetroRail stop. There is also adequate parking at both the church and the museum. The church will allow you to keep you car there overnight if needed.
Are children invited?
Children under 6 are required to be accompanied by an adult at all times during the ceremony. The ceremony will likely be around an hour, so if you are not confident that your child would comfortable sitting for that time, we would be happy to see you at the reception. Children are welcome at the museum for the reception, but we want to make parents aware that as the evening progresses, music may not always be kid-friendly.
What is the dress code?
The dress code is formal. For the men, we recommend suit with a tie or a tuxedo. For the women, we recommend ankle to floor length dress or a dressier cocktail length. There are no recommended colors, feel free to wear something fun to fit a fun venue! For the weather, Houston in April tends to be beautiful- mostly 70s during the day, 60s at night.
Can I bring a plus one?
We feel so lucky to celebrate with our nearest and dearest. To keep the day as meaningful as possible, we can only accommodate those listed on your invitation. Thank you for understanding and helping us make this day unforgettable!
