Our Wedding

In the midst of one of the most challenging times in recent history—the global pandemic—Elizabeth and Charles found an unexpected connection. Separated by distance, they met on the Clubhouse app, where their conversations quickly became a source of joy, inspiration, and growth. They were drawn to each other’s perspectives on life, faith, and the world around them. Through many late-night talks and heart-to-heart discussions, what started as a friendship began to grow into something deeper. It was their shared faith that became the cornerstone of their bond, along with a set of shared values that guided their journey. As sparks began to fly, Elizabeth and Charles knew they were falling in love. Despite the challenge of being miles apart, with Elizabeth based in Boston, MA, and Charles in Charlotte, NC, they embarked on a long-distance relationship. The distance only strengthened their commitment to one another, as they found ways to stay connected through regular visits, video calls, and a deep emotional connection. Charles was completely mesmerized by Elizabeth’s reverence for God, her ability to influence others positively, and her intoxicating blend of personality and wit. To him, she was not only inspiring but also a beacon of faith, lighting up every space she entered. Elizabeth, in turn, was equally captivated by Charles’ Southern charm and hospitality. His natural ability to motivate and uplift those around him, coupled with his servant’s heart, left a lasting impression on her. She admired his deep commitment to faith and family, and his steady, unwavering support made her feel cherished and secure. Their love story is also a beautiful testament to the merging of two distinct and vibrant cultures. Elizabeth, with her Latin American roots, and Charles, deeply connected to his African American heritage, found a deep appreciation for one another’s backgrounds. Start your day in Higüey, one of the most popular cities in the country. There you will visit the Basilica and the Dominican Market, where you can get to better understand Dominican culture and society. After lunch its time to visit Anamuya River, where you will have time to swim, enjoy nature and even slide on a 100 foot natural slide into the river.
