Q + A

What should I wear?

The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal/cocktail attire. A dress, skirt, dress pants, suit and tie or a sports coat would all be great choices. Please try to avoid jeans. We kindly ask that you try to avoid lavender, sage. tan, and of course, white, as those are the colors the bridal party will wear.

What Time is the Cocktail Hour?

A traditional cocktail hour, with a cash bar and DJ, will begin at 5:00 pm. Although the cocktail hour will not begin until 5:00 pm, guests are allowed to relax at the reception hall directly following the ceremony if they choose. There will be tables and chairs as well as various board and card games to enjoy. Otherwise, guests can take their time and enjoy different attractions in the area like Invictus Brewery, Bunker Hills Park, or Blainbrook Bowling.

What happens after the ceremony?

After the ceremony, the wedding party will be taking pictures nearby for around two hours. Guests are welcome to head straight to the reception hall and relax by talking or playing provided board and card games. Otherwise, guests can explore the area. We do ask that all guests arrive at the reception by 5:45 pm, allowing plenty of time to find your seat before the bridal party entrance at 6:00 pm. If you arrive after 5:55 pm you will be asked to wait in the lobby until dinner begins at 6:15 pm

Why is there a gap after the ceremony?

We apologize for the inconvenience, but there will be a 2 and a half hour gap between our ceremony and our reception. This is due to our ceremony being held at a Catholic church. To avoid interrupting Saturday mass, the latest time the ceremony could occur is 2:00 p. We encourage guests to explore the area, rest, or wait at the reception hall where there will be board and card games.

Will there be alcohol?

Yes! There will be a cash bar (credit card and cash accepted). The new Mr. and Mrs. will also provide unlimited pop and 2 alcoholic drinks per guest. There will be 2 drink tickets at each placemat-- bring them up to the bartender for the drink of your liking. After 2 drinks, it will be a cash bar.

Will dinner be served at the reception?

We will be serving a buffet style meal. Dinner will begin at 6:15pm. Please let us know if you have any dietary needs so we can make accommodations

Can I bring a Plus One?

Unfortunately, we have a strict guest list to stay on budget and adhere to our venue requirements. Our celebration is by RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your wedding invitation. All invited guests will clearly be stated on the invitation and if you have a plus one, it will state "your name and guest".

Are kids welcome?

While we love your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Both the ceremony and reception will be held indoors. The ceremony will be at the Church of St. Timothy (707 89th Ave NE, Blaine, MN 55434) The reception will be at Brookhall (11930 Central Ave NE, Blaine, MN 55434)

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

The bride and groom have decided they would like to spend their first night as a married couple at their new home. Since that is close to the venue, they have decided not to reserve a hotel block. Please see the "travel" section for ideas on where to stay close to the venue!
