Jacob and Elizabeth met while in graduate school at CSUN. Jacob was in his first year and Elizabeth was in her second year. They were in a required class in the Fall of 2018 and knew nothing of each other. Elizabeth had her friends and was busy trying to just finish her thesis and prepare for jobs. Jacob was a determined grad student, doing what he needed to do to go PT school.

The universe had other plans in mind. The first class of the semester the professor had everyone do a round of “speed dating” where they got to know the other classmates, their majors, thesis, etc. Elizabeth was just chit chatting with her friends and did not pay attention to the prompt until she matched with Jacob, who was writing down all the information and intently asking questions. Jacob was interested in her thesis and a conversation about his experience leaving sports sparked a friendship. Luckily they had other classes together.

They would study and were group partners. And after a couple weeks of studying, Jacob asked Elizabeth out on a date. And look at them now!
