How We Met
In 2012 Chris and I both attended art school in Philly when we found each-other. I had graduated but was still living there, and Chris was working on finishing his degree early in the fall. Through an online dating sight we met up in the summer, and we quickly realized that we were perfect for each other. We got together as often as we could and soon fell in love. Even though we had to spend a lot of time apart after college was over and we both moved back home, there wasn't a day that passed that we didn't spend time together through phone calls and Video calls. Even when we weren't together we never felt far apart.
The Proposal
In 2019 we went on a cruise together with some of our friends, and one night after a formal dinner we all went to the top deck of the boat to take some pictures in our nice clothes. Then, under the stars, in the middle of the sea, Chris got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was beautiful and perfect and I cried while saying yes as we held each other. (The ring is also beautiful and perfect- It fit like a glove and is probably the most beautiful thing I'll ever own). Chris made sure to make us step away from the edge of the boat before taking the ring out of the box and putting it on my finger- didn't want to lose it in the Atlantic! The proposal was a total surprise, I don't know how I didn't see it coming- Chris either did a great job of hiding the surprise, or I was just too distracted by the cruise to pick up on it, but I'm glad I didn't suspect because it made it that much more special. I still get teary-eyed when thinking about that night. It was perfect.
The Pandemic
Our wedding plans were originally for April 18th 2021. The pandemic had different plans for us. We decided to postpone the wedding for a year, which was a difficult decision, however it was the right one. Chris and I didn't want to settle for a day that was any less than we wanted, and we also didn't want to put any family at risk. And hey, the new date is super easy to remember! 4/3/22,
