Our Wedding

Our Story through Two Lenses:Through Elizabeth’s Eyes-Elizabeth began PA school at the Medical University of South Carolina in May of 2023, where she soon met Zoe, her cadaver lab group member. Elizabeth spent ALOT of time with Zoe at her house studying, and soon became very close friends.Fresh out of a relationship, Zoe was persistent that she meet her brother-in-law, Caleb, who she insisted shared the same hobbies, morals, and beliefs as Elizabeth. Although, Elizabeth was very hesitant. One afternoon in November of 2023, Caleb was home from the Naval Academy on Thanksgiving Break and happened to come over to the house where Zoe and Elizabeth were studying at the time. This is where Elizabeth and Caleb first met.Elizabeth likes to say that Caleb fell head over heels for her when they first met, but Elizabeth was still a bit hesitant.They didn't see much of each other, until Spring Break, Caleb was in town, Elizabeth was leaving town, but Caleb wanted to take her to dinner before she left. She swears it was just as friends but Caleb did not see it that way.Caleb invited Elizabeth to the Naval Academy graduation and commissioning week in Annapolis in May of 2024, to hangout with him, Zoe, and Colton for the week. Elizabeth was in, but told Caleb before she came that she was not interested in dating anyone. Caleb agreed and still encouraged her to come.Well.... little did Elizabeth know this is where her and Caleb would really hit it off. Elizabeth thought Caleb was too quiet... then she spent the week with him and his family, just to find out how truly special he is.Not sure where this spark would lead them, Elizabeth and Caleb continued to hangout that summer in Charleston, before Caleb left for Pensacola to pursue his career in Naval Aviation. That summer was filled with home cooked dinners, beach days, boat days, runs, walks, and ALOT of studying.Elizabeth and Caleb continued their relationship, navigating long distance, PA school clinical rotations, and flight school, all while continuing to grow together.Through Caleb’s Eyes-When Caleb would call Colton and Zoe to catch up, Zoe would always bring up this Elizabeth girl and how amazing she was. Zoe would tell Caleb how driven, smart, and beautiful she was, and how we have the same values. Caleb decided that he needed to find out for himself, so he made sure when he was home over Thanksgiving break that they were introduced. He didn’t learn too much about her from their first meeting, except that she wasn’t great at corn hole or darts, so the next time he was home over spring break he wanted to spend time with her and learn more about her. To his surprise, she pretty much asked him on a date before he even had a chance to set anything up, so he quickly made a reservation at Sunset’s on Shem Creek where they got dinner, and then ice cream afterwards at Off-Tracks (one of their favorite places now). Elizabeth says Caleb was nervous that night which is why he didn’t eat much, but Caleb was just full from a big lunch 😉. During spring break, Caleb‘s graduation that upcoming summer was brought up, and Caleb invited Elizabeth to go to Maryland for the week and spend time with him and his family and be there for his graduation. Right before that week, Elizabeth called Caleb and told him that she was not interested in dating and that she was only going to go as a friend. Caleb was totally cool with this and seemed very nonchalant, because he wanted to “play the long game” knowing she would eventually come around. During the week in Annapolis, Caleb and Elizabeth got to know a lot more about each other and realized just how special each other were. They began dating shortly after and continued to fall more in love with each other as they spend more time with one another. Now, they are looking forward to making their vows and spending the rest of their lives together.
