Funny enough, this isn’t our first time walking down the aisle together! Our story really started on October 6, 2023, the day we were in the wedding of Liz’s cousin Sara and her husband Trevor who is one of Alec’s best friends. They had been trying to set us up for a long while, but the timing was never right. We had only met once prior to the wedding and shared few words in passing. This day though something was different. Beyond Alec offering up his jacket when the rain rolled in, helping Liz set up her dessert table that day, or when he went to the store to get Smirnoff ices 30 minutes before the ceremony so they could have the PERFECT reception entrance skit, he really swooned her over when he asked for a dance. They talked more than they danced, although the dancing lasted for what seemed to be forever and not long enough all at the same time. From that point on, they were inseparable. They fell fast and hard and knew they would be dancing at their own wedding one day.

The Night We Fell In Love ❤️

Within the 11 months of dating each other, and a few of those living together, our love has only grown stronger and stronger. We have enjoyed doing everything together from learning new recipes for dinner, to new hiking adventures, and our personal favorite is the obscene amount of time we spend with our friends and family. The day we got engaged, we were up camping in Charlevoix for the weekend and the weather had not been so cooperative. It was rainy, windy, and cold most of the weekend and the day we got engaged as well. The weather happened to subside for an hour, which was enough for us to have a picnic at the base of the Mackinac bridge as we had planned going into this trip. Liz had suspicions something was up and even checked Alec’s pockets, but little did she know he had hidden the ring in the picnic bag all along and slipped it into his waist band at just the perfect moment. He asked Liz for a dance, and it was then at that moment Alec stopped and made mention of how 11 months ago to the day they had their first dance, and wanted to ask Liz to be his dance partner forever. It was magical and unforgettable, and a day we will never forget as long as we live!

Isabelle is Liz’s little sister! Liz may have had half her childhood as an only child, but along came Isabelle who made her a big sister. Despite their age difference, Izzy and Lizzy became the best of friends. Confiding in each other and being there for each other no matter what. They may pull each others hair and throw some scratches at each other, but they also wouldn’t hesitate to go to war for each other need be. Liz becoming a big sister was one of the most proud moments of her life.

Mason a.k.a Chubby Bunny is Alec’s little brother and best friend. They may have had no choice in being brothers but they did choose to be best friends. From the car rides to and from school or soccer practices to the late night talks in each other’s rooms, they have both been each other’s confidants and safe havens. Alec says, “Mason may be small, but he is mighty! MIGHTY MOUSE!”

Maggie is also one of Alec’s twin sisters and soon to be Liz’s sister in law! Maggie is also a recent graduate of Calvin University and is pursuing teaching! Maggie has two kitties Caramel and Macchiato, and Macchiato just so happens to be the sister of Vanilla Bean, Alec and Liz’s kitten. Nick (groomsman) also happens to be Maggie’s boyfriend! Maggie played for the women’s soccer team at Calvin throughout her college career as well. Maggie is also set to go to Alaska for an internship in January! Liz can’t wait to continue to grow her relationship with her soon to be sister.

Jeremy and Alec became friends through video games. Past the screen though, Alec and Jeremy have grown rather close through the mutual love of soccer and harassing the rest of the discord. Jeremy is by far the nicest groomsman anyone would ever meet and that’s what Alec appreciates about him! Alec says, “Played soccer!”

Alex is Liz’s newest friend, but definitely has become one of her closest! Alex and Liz love to go with the flow when out and about and love to have a great time dancing to music and laughing. Alex and Liz share a lot of love for the same kinds of fashion and activities. Liz knows that even though Alex has only recently come into her life, she will be around for years to come to support her and be there every step of the way!

Stevie a.k.a Steve and Alec have known each other possibly the longest besides Mason. Stevie and Alec grew up playing soccer and going to school together. They became a lot closer in recent years with video games and Trevor and Jeremy to thank! Stevie is one of the most genuine guys and has no problem telling you how it is. Alec says, “NO SELLING CARS AT THE WEDDING!”

Heather is Liz’s only aunt on her father’s side! Aunt is a funny word though, because Liz considers her more like a big sister. I mean, they are close enough in age to be sisters after all haha! Heather and her husband Junior have always been there for Liz, whether it was to scare off bad news boys or help her move out, they always do so without hesitation or complaint. Heather also is really great at fixing problems that Liz has and giving great direction and advice. Liz is so grateful to have this branch of her family so close to her in her life journey, and wouldn’t change it for the world.

Billy and Alec became friends through Trevor. Billy is the grandpa of the group, and his advice and wisdom shows why. Alec has received some of his best advice from Billy and Alec is forever grateful for him. Billy is super friendly and will talk to anyone about anything! Alec says, “Gosh you’re old!”

Madison is Liz’s cousin but also happens to be her roommate for the past year! They share a love for true crime, crafting, thrifting, and so much more. Madison and Liz have also done some craft shows together selling Madison’s home made crocheted stuffed animals and Liz’s baked goods. Growing up, Liz and Madison have memories being at grandmas house and watching old Disney movies. Some things never change!

Donny and Alec have known each other for quite a long time. They played soccer together from elementary school all the way to high school. After soccer ended Donny and Alec continued to be friends through video games. Donny has started a family and Alec looks up to him and hopes to be as good of as a father as he has proven to be! Alec says, “Big Don wasn’t available so I guess Lil’ Don will do”!

Sara is Liz’s cousin! They have grown up together doing dance parties and sleep overs which has translated into dance parties and sleep overs in adult life. Sara also happens to be the person that does Liz’s hair (seriously, go book an appointment with her) and will be styling Liz for the big day! Sara and her husband Trevor are also the matchmakers to make this big day possible, by matching Liz and Alec together to walk down the aisle in their own wedding back in October 2023. Liz appreciates the relationship Sara and her have grown where they know they always have each other to vent and be there for whatever wild ride is to come!

Trevor is one of the two reasons that Alec and Liz met! Alec considers Trevor as his older brother. They played soccer back in high school and later on at Mott. Trevor is the reason Alec isn’t such a stick in the mud anymore, because Trevor showed Alec that it is okay to live life! Alec says, “Your heart is almost as big as your nose!”

Eleanore is Liz’s cousin! Eleanore and Elizabeth spent their childhood together taking trips to the beach and creating lots of businesses under the name “E & E” like E & E’s boat service (a floatie on which we would take our victims on rides throughout the lake). Eleanore is a geologist and lives in New York! She also spent some years going to Auburn University in Alabama. Also, if you hear anyone say the name “Lizard Bits”, that would be Eleanore referring to Liz haha!

TJ and Alec have become friends from video games and mutual friends. TJ is the newest friend, but has made a wonderful impact on Alec’s life. TJ makes life exciting and thrilling! Alec says, “You are my sunshine! My only sunshine!”

Ethan is Alec’s future brother-in-law! Ethan started off as one of Mason’s teammates but was then smitten by one of Alec’s sisters, Austin. Ethan is one if not the funniest man to Alec. Ethan never fails to make Alec laugh. Ethan and Alec have a great blooming relationship that they now have FOREVER to grow! Alec says, “I can’t get over your picture still!”

Ashley is Liz’s littlest sister. Even though Liz was 16 when she was born, they are closer than you could imagine. Liz loves spending time with Ashley playing board games or going to get ice cream. Liz especially cherishes the times that she is able to have adventures with her sister and take her to cool new places. Ashley loves art and anything her big sister likes haha!

Haylee is Liz’s only cousin on her dad’s side, and Heather’s (bridesmaid) daughter. Liz and Haylee only call each other “cousin”, not by name. Liz loves getting random FaceTimes from cousin to tell her that she lost a tooth or to show her that her goats are having a new baby! Haylee loves to play with Liz and spend time with her whenever she can. Liz remembers the days of Heather picking her up from her dad’s house for sleepovers and doing makeovers and taking her on cool adventures, and hopes she can continue to do the same for Haylee.

Charley is Liz’s oldest little brother. Liz loves to visit and hear “ELIZABETHHHH” as Charley comes running to hug her. Charley is the funniest little boy, but also has one of the biggest hearts. Charley also could name any kind of truck, construction equipment, or heavy machinery there is. You could say he likes trucks! He may be trouble sometimes, but you could never tell with that sweet smile when he says “I love you”!

Harvey is Liz’s youngest brother and will probably be the biggest of all her siblings. Even at 2 1/2 he is a big boy, but with the biggest heart!  He’s so very sweet, snuggly, and smiley. He’s gonna cause some trouble with that big smile of his!
