It wasn’t love at first sight.

The air filled with cautious trepidation as two 20-somethings locked eyes in the lobby of the fluorescent-lit box of nuts, bolts, and scented candles that was the Smith ACE Hardware store.

He was the new kid on the block, gripping his red uniform smock anxiously as the manager gave him the lay of the land.

She was at the register, loading another roll of receipt paper and staring, not so discreetly, at his head of curly, blonde hair.

Little did they know, they’d just shared their first identical thought.

”Who is that?”

What would ensue is a romance for the ages complete with a shared love of all things music, concerts, travel, cooking, sports, long walks to literally anywhere, and most importantly… dogs.
