Our story began in a serendipitous way, proving that sometimes, taking a chance is all you need. Elizabeth, originally from Louisville, Kentucky, and Carles, hailing from the vibrant city of Barcelona, Spain, found each other in the most modern of ways—by chatting casually on Hinge. Both of us quickly realized that texting wasn’t our strong suit, so we decided to take the plunge and meet in person. It was the Tuesday evening of Thanksgiving week in 2023 when we finally met at Limon y Sal for dinner.

Elizabeth had to endure some friendly persuasion—or what her she might call “bullying”—to finally commit to the date. But once we were there, it felt like everything fell into place. Carles enjoyed a delicious Mexican meal, while Elizabeth, too nervous to eat, found comfort in a few margaritas. Despite the jitters, we talked for hours, laughing and sharing stories. By the end of the night, we both knew that this was the beginning of something truly special.

Just a short time later, Elizabeth invited Carles to meet her family. It was early, but everything about it felt right. Carles instantly fit in with her lively and loving family, and for Elizabeth, seeing that connection sealed the deal. And of course, Carles’ love for Elizabeth’s first love—her dog Archie—was the icing on the cake!

Elizabeth loves Carles for his kindness, selflessness, and positive outlook on life. He always knows how to make her laugh, even on the toughest days. Carles adores Elizabeth’s big heart, her outgoing personality, and her deep compassion for others. Plus, they both share a love for sports—though Carles is still working on convincing Elizabeth to join him on the tennis court!

Together, we balance each other out perfectly and feel incredibly grateful to have found our other half. We’re excited to continue building our lives together and can’t wait to see where this journey takes us.
