It all started in New Orleans, a city buzzing with energy and culture. John and Liz met at a work event at Harrah’s Casino (now Caesars Casino) in downtown New Orleans. The Marriott CMN golf tournament they were attending got cancelled due to bad weather, but rather than letting the storm spoil the day, the event was quickly restructured—and thats when John and Liz first met, thanks to some mutual colleagues.

Their first official date was at Tommy’s, a cozy Italian restaurant in New Orleans, where they shared a great meal, plenty of laughs, and lots of conversation. What started as a work event gone awry turned into something special, and they quickly realized they had a real connection.

Now, over ten and a half years later, John and Liz are still going strong. Theyve enjoyed traveling the world, cheering on their favorite sports teams, and making lasting memories with family. And when it comes to sports, the friendly rivalry is alive and well—Liz is an anything Atlanta fan (Falcons, Braves, and Auburn), while John is a die-hard Browns, Yankees, Syracuse, and Florida State fan. No matter who’s playing, they always support each other, unless, of course, their teams are facing off!

What began with a cancelled golf tournament has turned into a love story that has only grown stronger over the years.
