Joe decides to try using online dating for the first time and signs up for Bumble in February 2022. In early March he swipes right on Elizabeth and is then left to wait until he shows up in her potential matches. On the morning of March 9th Elizabeth checks her potential Bumble matches while having breakfast and finally swipes right on Joe. She immediately got a match notification and messages him right away. They exchanged a few messages back and forth and Joe quickly asks Elizabeth out to lunch. They decide to meet up that same day at Table 12 in West Boylston since Elizabeth had to start her stretch of 7 night shifts the next day. They immediately hit it off and conversation flowed easily and before they knew it 2 hours had passed.

They couldn't wait to see each other again and made plans for Saturday afternoon even though it was during Elizabeth's stretch of night shifts. They met up at Greater Good Brewery because baby Odin (who was only 3.5 months old) needed to come along. At the end of the date as it started to snow they shared their first kiss.
