As I sit down to write this, I can’t help but smile—because this is my favorite story to tell.

I’ve always heard that sometimes God keeps an invisible string between those who are meant to cross paths again. Looking back on my journey with Mark, I can see how true that is.

Mark and I first met at North Oconee High School. I had always known who he was—frankly, because I had always thought he was cute! But I was a shy, quiet girl, and I never had the nerve to talk to him. That is, until one day in Spanish class, when he approached me—not necessarily to strike up a conversation, but to check his answers against my Spanish homework. I didn’t mind one bit!

After high school, we went our separate ways and lost touch for a few years. Then, out of the blue, we reconnected—through Snapchat, of all things. At first, our conversations were casual, just here and there. But eventually, in college, Mark asked if I wanted to hang out. I was nervous—I still thought he was so cute—but thankfully, my friend Jada encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone and just go for it. (Thanks, Jada!)

From that moment on, we found ourselves wanting to spend every moment together. It all started with celebrating the Georgia Bulldogs' national championship win. We went to the championship parade together, and if you know my family, you know we’re huge Georgia fans—so, of course, almost my entire family was there to meet Mark for the first time. At that point, we were still just friends, but my family could already see what we hadn’t quite admitted to ourselves yet.

The months that followed were filled with adventure—spring break trips, dinner dates, spontaneous camping trips, and countless hours driving across the country together. Before we knew it, three years had passed, and now here we are, getting ready to say, "I do."

Looking back, I see so clearly how God was always leading us back to each other, as if that invisible string was never broken. We are so excited for this next chapter, for all the memories still to come, and for forever together. ❤️
