On December 17, 2023, Noah and Elizabeth connected on Hinge. Elizabeth had been on the app for years and gone on dates with 45 different men. Noah had been on the app for 2 days. Elizabeth instantly recognized him as her former professor's son. She led with, "Is Mark Lau Branson your dad?!"

The next day, they FaceTimed for 3 hours. They discovered they had many things in common: both half-Asian, half-white, both pianists, both Fuller alums, both into psychology and the Enneagram, both INFPs.

Elizabeth then flew to Maryland for the holidays. Before she left, Noah texted that he would like to take her on a date when she got back. After hours of texting and FaceTimes, they finally had their first date on January 6th. It lasted all day.

In the year that followed, there were many adventures, music-making sessions, deep conversations, and much fancy food. Elizabeth started climbing, and Noah caught Elizabeth's addiction to pickleball.

Eventually, slowly and then suddenly, they both realized they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together and become family.
