Susan, my older sister, has always been my mentor and friend, which must have come from sharing a room when we were younger! Now that we've grown up, we've traveled to many different countries together, been each other's support systems as we figured out 'adult life', and I'm grateful to have supported her as her bridesmaid and now as a proud Ciocia (aunt) to her adorable little girl! I'm so excited to have her as my MOH as I say "I do" with Goran ❤️

Theresa is my younger sister! We started life together learning how to braid on each other's hair and imagining elaborate scenarios to play with our barbies, and have since moved on to exploring the Italian coast and sipping wine in Niagara. The one thing that's never changed is our close friendship and and support for each other throughout life. I'm blessed to be the Godmother and Ciocia to her little munchkin, and can't wait to have her stand beside me as I did for her just a couple years ago ❤️

Danijela is Goran's sister-in-law. When we first met, she immediately made me feel welcome and part of Goran's family, explaining the Croatian traditions. Since then, we've swapped stories about family and work (we realized that we both work at the University of Waterloo), and have enjoyed seeing her two boys growing up. I'm looking forward to making even more memories with her, as Goran and I begin our next chapter.

Lauren and I met in grad school in Ottawa! From high tea afternoons to wine nights, and things like a murder mystery party and ultimate frisbee games thrown in between, we became fast friends. I'm so thankful that our friendship has lasted the distance and time since we were both in Ottawa, and I can't wait to have her by my side at the wedding!

Elizabeth and I met through work at the University of Waterloo. Our friendship started because we were constantly sorting out emails mistakenly sent to the wrong one of us, and has grown into almost daily walks together, trips to fabric stores, and crafting together in our free time. We take turns being known as "the other Elizabeth", depending on the context each time. I'm happy she can be "the other Elizabeth" alongside me in October.

Boro and I met at the start of university, and from that moment, our friendship became one long series of legendary shenanigans, including one particularly infamous misadventure that somehow landed us in academic papers and textbooks. No one else I know has the uncanny ability to turn curiosity or chaos into something as wildly entertaining, and that’s exactly why Boro has always been the obvious choice to stand by my side as best man.

Mijo is my oldest brother and the anchor of our family back home in Europe. Every visit to see him over the years was a true highlight, especially as his family grew and his three daughters filled the house with constant energy, laughter, and delight. Knowing he’s crossed continents to stand with us on this special day fills my heart with a joy that no amount of frequent-flier miles could ever measure.

Zoran is my older brother. Growing up he made sure I learned the art of evasion, not out of mischief but as an essential survival skills for whenever I’d push his buttons and send him chasing after me. Now those same tactics are getting passed on to his two little boys. I can’t wait to have my favourite sprint coach (and occasional pursuer) by my side as we make new memories together on my wedding day.

Matthew is Elizabeth’s brother, and I met him not long after I started dating Elizabeth, back when he was just starting his university adventure. Our friendship kicked off by trading stories about university life, swapping video game recommendations, and sharing countless memes. Since then, we've built a connection that goes beyond family ties, grounded in genuine fun and camaraderie. I’m looking forward to making even more memories together and am so glad he’ll be there beside us as we celebrate this new chapter.

Dejan is my cousin, and from our earliest days growing up in Germany, life was an adventure with him at my side. Whether we were collecting unused fireworks for our own backyard celebrations, setting off on epic bike rides, chasing the next big catch on fishing trips, or battling it out in the pixelated worlds of our favourite video games, every memory feels larger than life because he was there. I’m excited that the cousin who taught me to cast a line and hit “start game” will now help launch this new life chapter.
