Kevin and Elizabeth met through the game Black Desert Online (BDO). In August of 2021 they both unpredictably joined a discord voice call with other members of their BDO Guild, Soulmates. This was abnormal for both of them because neither of them liked to speak online to virtual strangers, but something pulled them to break their norm. After the initial meeting they started chatting more in game and engaging in in-game content together with their characters.

After a couple months of playing BDO together, Kevin had the idea for them to play Portal 2 (a puzzle game) together because they both bonded over games and a love of puzzles. To this day it is considered the "best $10 he's ever spent". They laughed more together in those weeks than either of them had laughed in a long time. It was a healing experience for both of them and was the spark of their love for each other.

Soon after they completed the Co-op Portal 2 puzzles, their relationship started with Kevin stating that "if he saw Elizabeth in a bar, then he would approach her." As pick-up lines go, it was definitely unique, but it worked. After considering the difficulties related to a long-distance relationship, they decided on November 20, 2021 to make it work.

In January 2022, Kevin flew to California to meet Elizabeth in person for the first time, where he made an excellent first impression by falling up cement stairs and breaking his nose. After this visit, they both knew they didn't want to remain distant for long.

In April 2022, Kevin moved to California to begin the next chapter of their life together. After living together for a while, it became clear that their future was set in stone, and marriage would be the next step. Wedding planning began in early 2023, and Kevin officially proposed on August 14, 2023.

Kevin and Elizabeth are looking forward to spending the rest of their lives together, and are excited to be celebrating their special day with friends and family.
