Weather

In Woodleaf fashion, the weather varies day by day. Please keep an eye out for the weather in Challenge, California as of this week to be prepared for potential rain and colder weather. The wedding will have a back up option if weather changes.

Housing

If you are arriving on Friday, you may drive through the main entrance through the gate and follow the map to your housing. Parking to unload is allowed, but please move your car to the designated parking lots when you’ve settled in. If you are arriving on the wedding day, please park in one of the designated parking lots and walk to Town Hall. There will be people pointing you in the right direction. Be aware, the terrain is not always flat and there is grass. Please wear shoes accordingly.

Meals

If you are staying on camp Friday night, please stop by a grocery store on your way in to grab any necessities for Saturday morning. We will have lunch provided following the ceremony, but will not have a breakfast for everybody. Each space will have a small kitchen set up with a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker.

DEPARTURE

Before you go, please strip your beds and leave your sheets and pillowcases. Gather your towels and leave them in a pile in the bathroom. Thank you for being here on our special day - safe travels home!

Arrival

We've been working together since the summer of 2023 but started becoming friends when our staff had a conference in Anaheim and we all went to Disney together!

January 8, 2024

Our friendship was mostly through group hang outs and goofing around at work, a lot of helping each other out and just having fun! Elizabeth knew in May that she was moving back to Texas in September... so this would be her last summer at Woodleaf (so she thought) so who would know what the last couple of months would look like for these two.

We went on our first hangout, just the two of us (not pictured, Elizabeth was too nervous to take one), that we now call our "unofficial first date"! A romantic trip to town to go car shopping and get an oil change *swoon*

Our friendship kept growing after we were both on the same evening shift at work... enough that someone else snagged a picture of us talking in the dining hall.

Elizabeth (of course) had to text her girlfriends about all the updates throughout the summer, you know... just in case

We all went to the local pumpkin patch before Elizabeth moved back to Texas, we were in our "will they, won't they" stage as time is running out.

September 9, 2024

The day Elizabeth left Woodleaf, Caeden slipped her a letter as she got into her car... it wasn't a confession of love but it did change their relationship. They began a new chapter: will they, won't they (long distance version). These next couple of months were a lot of late night texting and phone calls, and they never stopped talking.

September 30, 2024

After a long five months, the Lord guided Elizabeth back to Woodleaf and she came back for a week to revisit. Of course the job was important, but she had something else on her mind and so did he. Elizabeth spent her free time "helping" him at work while their question of "what are we?" was lingering over them. At the end of the week... another letter! This time, he does like her (officially)! So our friendship took an exciting turn at the Sacramento airport, terminal B, gate 23, where Elizabeth read this letter.

February 21, 2025

Surprise! We started dating! After all the long distance feelings, we officially started our relationship (in person, not through a letter) and were so excited to start our new chapter together!

March 24, 2025

Caeden and Elizabeth survived their first Young Life summer as a couple and they couldn't have asked for a better one! The Lord showed up for them in so many ways as they grew their relationship during summer camp!

They spend a lot of their free time going on adventures and hanging out with their friends, they also found one of their favorite new traditions at the photo booth!

When summer started to slow down and fall settled in, Elizabeth fell in love with a shelter dog that she brought home that quickly fell in love with Caeden. They were starting a new chapter in their lives with a new furry friend alongside them.

After summer, Caeden and Elizabeth flew together to their hometowns to meet their families! They spent a lot of time traveling together to Washington and Texas, even trips to the beach and parks in between. This fall was already becoming sweet for them.

But it got even sweeter! They got engaged! After a long friendship that turned into something more with a lot of guidance from the Lord, Caeden proposed to Elizabeth at Bodega Bay (one of their favorite places together). Caeden said that the first time they went to this place together, he knew he wanted to marry Elizabeth.

We couldn't be more excited to start this new chapter in our lives and glorify the Lord every step of the way. Our friendship continued to grow through a lot of trust in the Lord, prayers, and His faithfulness through us. We are so thankful for His guidance and the love and support from our friends and family. Now let's get married!!!!!

Dress Code

The Sacramento airport is located an hour and a half away from camp, due to the distance, a car can be rented through the weekend. Let us know if you're interested in carpooling and we will connect people!

Sacramento International Airport

For those traveling a long ways, camp is an option to stay Friday and Saturday night! We will wrap up our Wedding festivities around 4:00 pm to allow to flights out on Saturday night or getting a hotel in town. If you plan on staying at camp on Saturday night, we will not have food available and dinner will be on your own. There is a general store and a Dollar General 15 minutes away from camp for small accommodations.

There are plenty of other hotels in the area that are close to the airport, let Caeden or Elizabeth know if you have any questions about them!

We will have small breakfast items such as bagels, granola bars, etc. in each space you will be staying in. There will also be a small kitchen with a coffee maker for the morning.
