Kyle and I met in college at UT Martin 10 years ago. I know what you’re thinking… y’all have known each other for that long and didn’t start dating until 2023? The long answer to that question is YES! Kyle and I talked on and off for the last decade. I know this probably comes as a shock to most of you but I am a little bit stubborn and he and my mom both blame the fact that it took this long all on me LOL. One thing that never changed over the last ten years was Kyle’s persistency. He knew what he wanted and never stopped trying and I am so thankful that he didn’t. He became my best friend over those ten years even though I would never tell him that. He was the person that I told everything to but also hid from the world (and now… I have no idea why I did). After much persistence and a lot of asking I finally agreed to go on a date with him December 16th 2022 and I can beyond a shadow of a doubt say that it was the best decision of my life. I knew immediately that I had been making a mistake all of those years and that I should have given him a chance sooner. On our first date everything just felt right. We started dating on December 23rd and Kyle asked me to marry him on December 31st, a year and a week later. Growing up in a household with my parents I learned from a young age what true love looked like. I have prayed since I was a little girl for someone to love me as fiercely and boldy as my dad loved my mom and Kyle is the answer to that prayer.
