Our Story

If we want to be technical here....Josh and I met in 2009. We grew up in the same church and attended the youth group together. He'll tell you that as a 14 year old, he remembers some new hot high schooler coming into 4:12 (the name of our youth group) AND he remembers exactly what she was wearing....

Fast forward some years to 2014 and we are both highly involved with volunteering in our church. We spent lots of time together setting up, tearing down, signing children in, and getting to know each other on a friendly level. One day all that changed, as Josh and his two younger sisters ran into church late. I was signing children in at the computer, but I felt as if God, Himself hit me in the heart with Cupid's arrow. "When did he get so cute?" "Did he always have those muscles?" "Why am I nervous?"

One night at youth group, I was leading the middle school girls' small group. Josh left his men's small group and walked down the hall towards our group. I asked, "What are you doing out here? We're supposed to be in small group." As he grabs a piece of left over pizza, he looks back and says "I just wanted to see your beautiful face one more time." (cue blushing and dramatic jaw drop)

From that time on, we talked constantly and grew closer together. Had our first date on the beach with ice cream. Second date walking down on River Street, and he asked me to dance while a street performer played "What a Wonderful World." We fell hard and fast. Told each other "I love you" before even having kissed. That's right....true love's kiss. This girl got it!

7 years of trial, happiness, growth, and most of all love. We are so excited to share our love story with the ones that love us most.

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." - 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8
