How we met is not your typical story, but we love it and enjoy sharing it with others. In 2020, we endured Covid and it seemed like the world stood still. Neither of us were necessarily looking for the one, but we both decided to download a dating app called Hinge during quarantine. We were a match!

We waited about two months before meeting each other, but spoke on the phone and face-timed quite often. We made it work while getting to know one another. Eventually, James drove to Charlotte to meet Liz so we could finally go on a date. It was wonderful, we could not stop talking and wanted to learn everything about each other. At the time, Liz was in grad school and James worked as a correctional officer for Surry County. We made it work, every other weekend, one of us would drive to Mount Airy and the other to Charlotte. We introduced each other to our families and soon would spend a lot of time with them as well, as family is something very important to both of us.

During the last three years, we have traveled, spent time with amazing friends, and seen each other pass large milestones along the way. We are so very thankful for everyone who has taken a part in our journey and cannot wait to be married next year! One of our favorite memories is when we took a trip to Savannah, Georgia for our second anniversary. It was the perfect place to explore history, have good food, and take a break from our busy schedules.

We are so excited to celebrate next September surrounded by friends and family in Asheville. If you're looking for the one, we highly recommend going against the grain. You never know what is in store!
