Zach and Liz met in April 2021 and quickly fell head over heels for each other. They bonded over puzzles, board games, and all things outdoors. Liz loved teaching Zach about the birds they'd see on hikes! Liz could tell he really liked her, since he bought a bird field guide almost immediately. They spend a lot of time with Liz's siblings and their partners, and spent many Sundays watching football at her parent's house. Liz loved meeting Zach's family in Missouri and seeing all the "cultural" differences between the states! Liz still bugs Zach about some weird Missouri phrases he uses - it's "put it away," not "put it up!" In January 2023 they took a trip to the Sax-Zim bog, one of their favorite spots to bird in the winter. Zach proposed with Liz's grandmother's ring and she was ecstatic. That evening at their Airbnb, a Great Gray Owl flew right up and landed in a tree. It was so special and they both were astounded. As cheesy as it is, Liz truly can't wait to be Zach's wife. He is an amazing man - caring, kind, funny, hardworking, witty, and probably the smartest person she knows! They truly cannot wait to tie the knot and celebrate with friends and family!
