We met and fell in love by meeting through a mutual friend! Lizzy went to visit Ashtyn Phillippi in Shreveport, Louisiana. Ashtyn told Jacob her friend was coming to visit, and he said "don't let your friend fall in love with me." She assured him that Lizzy "doesn't like anyone," and there was no way she would be interested. To Ashtyn's surprise, Jacob got out of his truck and Lizzy was speechless. Two weeks later Lizzy decided to meet Jacob in West Monroe, Louisiana and meet his family. The couple knew it sounded crazy to move that fast, but they didn't care. This is the weekend they took their first picture together.

After making the trip to Laurel to talk to Lizzy's parents, Jacob had to find the perfect weekend to pop the question. With the couple's busy schedule, he finally landed on Christmas break. The couple attended Christmas Eve mass with the Sullivan family, and after the service, Jacob insisted the two of them needed a picture in front of the tree.
