Becoming the Maymons

(From Lizzie's Perspective)

When me and Kevin started to work together I thought he was really fun and really awesome with kids! However, I did not even enter into the idea of being more than friends. I had (well I thought I had) a no dating a coworkers rule. Anyhow, Kevin began to hang around me at work a bit more and me and Holly would also hangout with Kevin a bit more in our free time. On Kevin's birthday I tried to make a big deal about it and he was very short and ran away from me. This made me think he was a bit rude, but it seems nerves got the best of him that day. ;) Kev finally asked me to hangout in which I told EVERYONE I was going to friend zone him (whoops) and the rest is history. We dated for about a month before we told our coworkers, he met my parents in the first month on a trip to Chattanooga, and now we are getting marrrrried! So the moral of the story is I was a hypocrite but now Kevin does not work at NCMC anymore so all is well. To be fair, he changed his role and went back to the adult side of healthcare. When we started dating the people that knew us both were already telling me we would probably end up married and here we are.

(From Kevin's Perspective)

My favorite part of getting to know Lizzie is that it was never planned! I always was so nervous to talk to her that I didn’t think we would even date. Something inspired me to get the courage to talk to her though. It’s no surprise that I didn’t have a plan but with Lizzie it truly was out of the blue. Lizzie always shines with positivity and greatness around her all the time that I’m lucky to even get a little touch of that light she shines. It makes me want to be the best person I can be. I always thought if I didn’t change she would never even talk to me. On our first date the she was going to friend zone me, we talked and had a instant connection that I never wanted to lose. She laughs at most of my jokes but continues to hold me accountable and I could not ask for anyone better to share the rest of my life with!
