When and where is the wedding?
Our wedding is on the evening of Saturday, 21 February 2026, at Home Hill Winery, 38 Nairn Rd, Ranelagh, Tasmania, Australia. We ask you arrive by 5:15pm for the ceremony at 5:30pm.
What is the dress code?
Dress code is formal attire.
Elizabeth will be in a long fancy white dress and Ron will be in a suit and tie. We would love it if you dress up with us. We also understand that it will be summer, albeit Tasmanian summer which feels like it hasn't started yet. Think midi to long dresses (doesn't have to be floor length), and suits and tie (but blokes need not wear a tie all night particularly if it's too hot).
For girls wearing heels, the ceremony will be held on grass - we would recommend a chunky heel.
Can women wear a white or white-ish dress to our wedding?
Call us old fashioned, but we'd ask that you don't so Elizabeth's dress can stand out!
When and where do I get the wedding bus?
Please arrive at the bus stop at 3:45pm so you do not delay the bus or miss it. The bus to the wedding will depart at 4pm from the Campbell St side of the Grand Chancellor Hotel Hobart (1 Davey Street, Hobart) to drive guests to the venue on time.
The same bus will leave Home Hill Winery after the wedding finishes at 11:30pm and will drop guests back to the Grand Chancellor Hotel Hobart.
I've been advised the bus journey is about 50 minutes.
What are Ron and Elizabeth doing after the wedding?
We are not planning on taking a honeymoon immediately after the wedding. With so many people visiting, it makes sense for us to hang around Hobart. We would love to catch up with as many people as we can in addition to seeing you at the wedding.
Will there be a recovery event on Sunday 22 February 2026?
Yes, we understand that some people aren't rushing back to work on the Monday or have an evening flight. We are planning to have a casual afternoon drinks/catchup for people still around that afternoon (possibly a BBQ at our place or at a local venue) starting around 2-3pm. Details still to be confirmed.
Tell me more about what to expect at the wedding.
We ask that you plan to arrive at Home Hill Winery between 5pm and 5:15pm. For those taking the wedding bus from Hobart, this will get you there at the perfect time. When you arrive, you will be shown around the side to a lawn and patio outside the winery restaurant. You will get ready to either sit or stand on each side of the aisle to watch the ceremony. Seating is limited and we will reserve seats for those that need it. The wedding ceremony will begin at 5:30pm.
Immediately after the ceremony guests will be served drinks and canapes on the winery patio while our photographer quickly takes a few photos of Elizabeth and Ron. We will also call family and friends over for group photos.
After this you will go inside for our wedding reception in the Home Hill Winery restaurant.
During the evening there will be dinner, drinking, dancing and some brief speeches.
Staff will serve a lovely three-course alternative drop dinner by the winery's chef, Home Hill's amazing wines, and local beer.
The event ends at 11:30pm. A charter bus will take guests back to Hobart city at about 11:45pm.
In the case of inclement weather, the ceremony will still occur conveniently on site in the barrel room.
How do I get to Home Hill winery?
We have chartered a wedding bus to take our guests from Hobart city to the venue and home again at the end of the wedding!
If you chose to make your own way there, the venue is about 40 minutes drive from Hobart and 7 minutes drive from Huonville.
The venue is in a country area, so I wouldn't expect good public or local transport options.
It does appear to be possible to get Ubers or cabs there, however I expect availability (particularly coming back to Hobart) is likely to be limited. We recommend confirming with the provider directly that they service that area and booking your ride there and home in advance to avoid being stranded.
I'm coming from overseas (including the mainland) where should I stay?
If you are only coming for a short time and won't have a car, we recommend staying in one of the many hotels in the Hobart city area. Hobart city is an easy 15 minutes cab ride from Hobart International Airport. We have also organised a wedding bus charter to take our guests to and from Hobart city to our wedding venue. If you wanted to stay closer to the venue and planned to hire a car, there are some lovely accommodation options including motels and air bnbs in the Hounville area. However, you would need to organise your own transport to and from the wedding.
Can I have a plus one or bring my kids?
Only the guests we've named in the invitation are currently invited to our wedding. We have had to consider venue capacity and our budget when making the guest list. The wedding is in the evening and we want our friends who are parents to be able to relax and enjoy themselves, so we have not invited any children. That being said, you are invited because we want YOU there to celebrate with us! We understand that it can be difficult to travel alone or without your kids. We can't make any promises, but please feel free to reach out and ask us to consider a request like this. Particularly if it is the difference between you being able to attend or not. We would rather you ask and will not think you are rude for doing so. We would just be grateful if any of these requests could be made as soon as possible.
