The first time Page and Ella hung out, they were both super nervous and needed the cushion of friends to help them get to know each other.

Ella and Page dated long-distance for 6 months during the height of Covid. They spent tons of time talking on the phone and would meet for day trips in Red Deer.

Page somehow decided it would be a good idea to drive to Calgary, pick Ella up, hike to the top of Ha Ling Peak in Canmore and then drive home all in the same day. It was also notoriously one of the worst times of year to take that hike sending Ella's mom into a serious panic. It ended up being so windy, they wouldn't make it all the way up. Regardless, they didn't care if they made it to top, they were just happy to be together.

The first time Ella spent time with the Davis' Family, she went with them on their annual trip to Fairmont over Spring Break.

After completing her first year of university online, Ella found a summer job in Edmonton and made the decision to move. This came as a bit of a shock to her family who thought when she said she was going to move to Edmonton for school, she meant September, not two weeks after telling them.

Page got an opportunity to travel to Spain and Portugal with three of our close friends. This was a grad trip for Page and coincidentally when he got the email that he got into Dentistry.

After 4 long years hard at work in a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Page was accepted into the Dentistry program at U of A. He is now expected to finish school in April 2026.

Ella, Page, Alex, Aria and Ricky took on a wild journey to Victoria where they ended up driving well over 500 km a day. It was a true test of their friendships and Ella and Page's relationship. Although we would never recommend driving to and from Victoria in five days and staying up island, it did teach them all a lot.

Page has a serious passion for backcountry hiking. This was Ella and Page's first attempt at doing it together and it was seriously a blast. Ella got a crazy nose bleed and a porcupine ate her sandal straps, but it was such a fun trip.

Ella loves dressing up as something green for Halloween (e.g. Kermit the frog in 2022 and Salad Fingers in 2024). In 2023, she somehow convinced Page to dress up as Beaker and Bunsen from the Muppets.

Throughout Ella and Page's relationship they both realized they enjoyed running together and wanted to try a half marathon. With the help of their friends, the Lackey's, and despite a strong lack of training, they both crushed their first full marathon in Victoria.

Ella had always dreamed of doing a solo trip to Europe. She had thought this would happen right after high school but she got to fulfill this dream in her last summer of university. She ventured off alone for almost a full month visiting several friends across Ireland, England and France. (Ella with Hunter and Anna pictured here in Dublin).

On January 14th, 2024 Page's best friend Camren had his first baby, Marli. It was an incredibly joyous moment and being fathers was something Cam and Page had dreamed about together since they were little kids. It truly inspired Page to take a look at his life and lock down the love of his life so they could eventually have some babies of their own!

The Blair's and St. John's took on Vegas, bringing Page along for the ride. Besides making day trips to the mountains, this was Page's first time travelling with Ella's family.

After several years living in an attic and working many jobs while in school, Ella graduated from U of A with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.

Page finally worked up the courage to ask Ella to marry him. He planned a hike with some of their best friends, Camren, Dakota, and Baby Marli, using the cover that it was Marli's first hike. Ella had her suspicions but convinced herself it certainly couldn't be a proposal. By the grace of God there was no one at the waterfall and Page was able to excitedly get down on one knee.

Together with the Davis and Butler families, Ella and Page took on Costa Rica. Despite lots of nausea from the long bumpy drives in the back of the 12 passenger van, they had tons of fun white-water tubing, zip-lining, deep sea fishing, and lounging at the beach.
