Blake and Ella first met each other at Brookside's Elkhorn campus. They were both leading worship one Sunday morning, Blake played drums and Ella was singing. Sparks were flying from the very beginning. Unfortunately, two weeks later, Ella left for a missions trip in Europe. Ella kinda put Blake out of her mind, and he did the same. They didn't think it was really going to go anywhere because Blake stayed at the Elkhorn campus, and Ella was mainly at Millard.

While on the missions trip, Ella realized that God's plan was always better than her own. She prayed and asked God to bring her someone in his timing, in his plan. She decided she would not date anyone the next year until God brought her the one she was supposed to be with.

After she got back, Blake and Ella unintentionally became very involved in each other's lives. Last minute, they both decided to be middle school small group leaders for Brookside's youth ministry. They didn't know they had both signed up. When Ella walked into the youth ministry fall kickoff and saw Blake, she remembered him from before her trip and immediately started liking him. They started staying late on youth nights, just to see each other, and started coming up with excuses to talk to each other. They both helped with worship for two of the youth retreats and became even closer.

One night at Brookside's college ministry, Blake was talking to a mutual friend of both him and Ella. After admitting his interest in Ella to the friend, he was informed that Ella was also interested in him. That night he asked Ella out. She enthusiastically said yes, and the rest is history.

Looking back on their story, it is so evident that God was at work. He was in all the details that brought them together. He is so faithful and will continue to be faithful for the rest of their lives.
