Ella and Owen’s paths first crossed at a mutual friend's birthday party in the spring of 2021, where the air hummed with the promise of new beginnings. From across the glowing bonfire, Owen caught Ella's eye, igniting a spark and Ella instantly felt a pull to get to know him. They exchanged contact information that night and Ella didn't know when she might hear from him again. Much to her delight, however, he reached out the very next day. Little did they know, God had a plan for these two.

After a summer brimming with long, meaningful conversations, sun-soaked pool days at the Hubler house, and the joy of getting to know each other's families, Owen got permission from her dad and finally asked Ella out on their first date in September.

After a year of deepening their bond, Owen and Ella faced the challenge of long-distance when he moved to pursue his aviation degree at Mankato State University. Ella stayed behind, navigating her own studies through Crown College while holding down the fort at home. Although miles away, their connection steadily grew through late-night calls and heartfelt messages. After a couple of years apart, they both felt it—time to turn the page and take their love story to the next chapter.

In April 2024, Owen and Ella ventured on their first vacation together to the beautiful Isla Mujeres, Mexico. On the morning of April 4th, with the sun peeking over the horizon, Owen invited Ella for a sunrise walk along the beach to which she obliged. As they wandered overlooking the sea, Owen suddenly paused beside a grove of vibrant tropical plants. Ella turned to see what had captured his attention, only to find him kneeling before her. With the waves gently lapping at the shore, Owen asked Ella to marry him, and SHE SAID YES!
