The Mailbox

Back in June of 2022, Elle purchased her second home and began living her dream of adding cattle and goats to her property.
August of that same year, her lawnmower dies and she is unable to clear the grass clippings from in front of her house. She hears a lawnmower fire up and realizes an unknown neighbor has taken to clearing the street and didnt look happy. She waited until he was coming back down the road and met him at the mailbox to declare her innocence and thank him for clearing the road.
It turns out that Evan had just purchased a new motorcycle and had planned to go on a ride that evening to enjoy his new bike.
That ride never happened that August night. Instead, they stood at her mailbox and chatted for around an hour about the neighborhood and making introductions.

Elle and Evan has recently obtained new land and were enjoying their attempts to hunt on the property back in November 2024.

After many dedicated days of hunting, Elle had gone back out in the woods after lunch while Evan went home to greet his parents that were visiting.

Just when Elle was thinking of giving up for the day and heading in, a "spike" appeared in the distance. She waited for her shot and then excitedly called Evan to bring the tractor up and help her collect the buck.

After getting back up to the clearing, Elle had gone to drop off her hunting gear at the back of the tractor when Evan explained it wasn't a "spike", but a four pointer. It took her a minute to walk around and look at what he was talking about.

She went to look at her buck and Evan stated, "If you can hang a ring on it, it counts." Sure enough, her buck turned out to be a 4 pointer and Evan dropped to one knee.

"Are you going to marry me or not?"

"It's about dang time. Yes!"
