It all started on a fresh summer day, many moons ago… Konrad thought he was walking into Chick-fil-A for a simple job to make some cash… but he was really walking in to meet the love of his life. Greeted by the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen (Ellen) he knew he had to work hard to impress her and win her over.
This enchanting woman was a shift leader (bossed him around) so he worked extra hard to get promoted to the same level just to wow her (and get a little extra cash). He even dressed up as a chicken and did a silly little dance to catch her eye. As they worked together and started hanging out more- they really began connecting and feeling that spark. They started developing feelings and on one beautiful and starry night- Konrad FINALLY got the nerve to ask the love of his life to be his girlfriend. They started dating and immediately departed to the much dreaded… college- Konrad to Penn State and Ellen to Marymount. They frequently drove the 4+ hours to/from DC/State College on weekends and looked forward to breaks at home where they could spend more time together. Within 3 months- Konrad was pouring out his heart and professing his love, and they knew this was a forever love.
After enduring the challenges of the time apart- we finally are able to be together and are just as in love and goofy as always. We can’t wait to celebrate our love with you!!
It was my first job, 16 years old, and my first day I walked in with my heart in my throat. Walking into the back breakroom, the first person I see has the kindest face. She smiled at me and says, “Welcome! Is it your first day? You’ll love it here! We’re all just a big family!” It’s obvious where this is going - that friendly person was Ellen, and we instantly fell in love right? Unfortunately no. It took years of being friends, trading stories and feelings over late night talks together after work, and of course her putting up with my attitude. Years later, as we both geared up for another semester of college after a long summer working together, I realized how much I would miss her that year, how much my feelings had grown beyond being friends. Only a few weeks away from being hundreds of miles away for months, I took the plunge and asked her out. To this day, the best decision of my life. And yes, I was the one that said I love you first. 1,469 days later we’ve found our way here, and I can’t wait for the next 149,600!
