In the midst of the pandemic, Dave was living in the UK and was in the process of securing his America visa. Ellen was in New York City but transitioning to Boston and soon after they connected online. They hit it off immediately, and began speaking every day for hours, over the course of five months.

Finally, they decided they needed to test this budding romance and the only place available to do so, was Portugal.

The first time they laid eyes on each other was at the Lisbon airport, both wearing masks and mixed with excitement and nerves. So much so, that they forgot to pull our masks down for their first kiss. Immediately, they were picked up by their tour guide, who was fondly nicknamed "Babysitter Jose" and began their 5 day date abroad. Clearly, the trip was a success and Ellen & Dave spent the next year flying back and forth between England and Boston. Finally, in March 2022, Dave made the big move to America, and they began their next chapter - living together in the same city and getting to know all the nuances of each other that never quite made it into their trips ;).

After three years filled with fun, laughter, and adventures, Dave decided it was time to lock this in, and ask Ellen to marry him, in their favorite place - Quonnie, Rhode Island!
