It was May 4th, 2018...the Cleveland Indians were playing the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium. Ellen went there with a new co-worker and got seats on the upper level. Midway through the game, they decided to get some food, but the upper deck ran out of food, so they had to go to a lower level. By the time they got some food, they didn't want to go back up, so they stayed and stood on the lower level in the standing seats area. Jay went to the game with his friend for bobblehead night and didn't realize he had bought standing seats. The Indians were down for most of the game and started to make a comeback, the crowd fell quiet and a lone Cleveland girl starting cheering for her team. This caught the attention of Jay and he walked up to the girl and asked her what she was doing?! They started talking and she couldn't be bothered, why was this guy trying to talk to her? She caved and gave him her number. He made an impression and so later that night she texted him and the rest was history. He came to the city to visit her every Wednesday after work and they switched weekends between Connecticut and New York. They met each other's friends and family and Jay even came to visit Ohio! After 2 years of that, they moved in together in Stamford, CT and explored all over the East Coast together finding new adventures. On August 27th, 2022- just over 4 years after they met, Jay proposed at beautiful, Eiola Harkness Park under a tree. This love story continues and the adventures are endless.... <3
