Ellen and Rajeev met the old fashioned way: the online dating website OkCupid. Charmed by her profile, Rajeev reached out to Ellen to declare that he also enjoyed Michael Barbaro's smooth journalistic cadence on The Daily podcast, which was mentioned on her profile. This turned out to be a bald-faced lie, but the line worked.

Ellen and Rajeev went on their first date in Fort Greene Park in November of 2020. In the unseasonably warm weather, they chatted over wine on a blanket, at a covid-safe distance, until the sun went down.

Due to the pandemic, their relationship moved backwards... they went from spending Thanksgiving and Christmas together immediately, to then meeting each others' friends and family once it was safe to do so. They ventured around Cobble Hill, Williamsburg, Barcelona, Dominic Republic, and Greece; chatted over wine, went to a lot of Ellen's improv shows, sang along to Hamilton, and went on a personal training journey that culminated in both of them deadlifting 300 pounds.

Three years later, they got engaged in beautiful Puerto Rico, and are so excited to invite their family and friends to join in their wedding celebration this May.
