Our Wedding

Hi there friends and family! I just wanted to take a second to thank you all for how grateful and supportive you’ve been during this time. Joshua and I got married on May 16 (our original wedding date) with just immediate family. Although we missed all of our friends being there we really felt that it was a perfect day. And because of that we’ve decided to cancel our wedding in August. Thank you for understanding and know that we are very blessed and very thankful for the gifts and the love that you have given to us! Love, Mr. and Mrs. Smith

August Wedding Update 

It all started freshman year&nbsp;at George Fox University when Joshua took one look at Ellery and decided&nbsp;that he was&nbsp;determined to ask her on a date. After multiple&nbsp;failed attempts to ask her out, and a lot of&nbsp; humbling growth that was needed,&nbsp;the Lord provided a perfect moment 10 months later on December 13th,&nbsp;2017. After their first date, Ellery walked away thinking in her head, "I think I just went on my last "first date." Needless to say, the Lord had been&nbsp;preparing&nbsp;their hearts for one another and from then on, it was a perfect match, like&nbsp;peanut-butter and&nbsp;jelly.&nbsp;

The Beginning 

We&nbsp;both knew very shortly after we began dating that we&nbsp;were meant for each other. Joshua&nbsp;had plans already in the making at 3 months into their relationship of how the big day was gonna go down. After many adjustments, the day was approaching&nbsp;and his plan looked flawless. July 2nd 2019, Josh woke up that morning tremendously sick and achy. But the show must&nbsp;go on!&nbsp;

The plan:&nbsp;



Their good friends Emily and Kaiden were coming to Bend for the 4th and Emily had texted Ellie asking her if she would set up a surprise picnic&nbsp;at the top of Smith Rock for Kaiden (her husband). Little did Ellie know that this mountain&nbsp;top picnic was her engagement proposal. Josh attempted to play it cool all day, and was determined to ask her to marry him, even though he was sick. They&nbsp;finally made it to the top and set up their picnic waiting for Emily and Kaiden to get there. While they&nbsp;were waiting,&nbsp;Joshua pulled out two journals (one secretly had the ring inside).&nbsp;Without her knowing, they&nbsp;were reading the love story he wrote and then the ring appeared and SHE SAID YES!!
