Are children or plus ones allowed?
This will be an adults-only celebration. We hope this allows you to enjoy a special night out with us. Plus ones are only included if explicitly listed on your invitation & the RSVP selection.
What is the dress code?
We kindly request formal attire in darker color palettes such as navy, black, maroon, or forest green.
For women: Knee or floor-length dresses, jumpsuits, or pant suits.
For men: Dress slacks, button-down shirts, and ties
Please avoid jeans, bright colors, bold patterns, camouflage, white, or anything close to white. When in doubt, opt for a more formal choice. For any questions, please feel free to reach out to Elliana.
Will transportation be provided?
Transportation will not be provided. We encourage guests to plan ahead by arranging a designated driver, carpooling, or using rideshare services such as Uber or Lyft.
Will there be an open bar?
Yes, a full open bar will be available. Please drink responsibly. Bartenders reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who appears over-served. Additionally, all alcoholic beverages must remain inside the reception area per venue policy.
What food will be served?
Light appetizers will be offered during cocktail hour, followed by a buffet-style Italian dinner. A dessert table will also be available later in the evening. Please note: We are unable to accommodate specific dietary restrictions or made-to-order meals.
Are there nearby hotels or room blocks?
Yes. Please visit the Travel tab on our website for recommended hotels and reserved room blocks. To receive the discounted rate, please call the hotel directly and mention the Shook/Charette Wedding when booking.
What airport should I fly into?
The closest airport is Dayton International Airport (DAY). However, we recommend Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) for more flight options and typically lower fares. Alternative options include Columbus (CMH) and Cleveland (CLE), though both require a longer drive. Immediate family members may contact us directly for assistance with transportation from the airport if needed.
How Do I RSVP & When Is the deadline?
Please RSVP through the tab on the website by entering your full name and selecting all invited guests. If you were given a plus one, they will be listed by name. RSVP deadline: May 17, 2026
Is there a wedding registry?
We have chosen to forgo traditional gifts. Instead, we have created a Honeymoon and New Home Fund, which can be found on the Registry tab on our website. Your contribution will help us create lasting memories and begin our life together. We sincerely appreciate your generosity.
What time should I arrive?
The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00 PM. Please arrive by 4:30 PM and be seated by 4:45 PM. Late entry to the ceremony will not be permitted.
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
The ceremony will take place outdoors on grass and will be brief. Cocktail hour will be held both indoors and outdoors, followed by an indoor reception. Please dress appropriately for fall weather and wear suitable footwear for walking on grass. Guests are welcome to arrive early to explore the arboretum grounds.
Where is the ceremony and reception?
Both the ceremony and reception will be held at Cox Arboretum in Dayton, Ohio. The full address will be available on the website after you RSVP. Parking is available on-site, and all locations within the venue are within walking distance. Please follow posted signage upon arrival.
