From the first moment Ellie saw Mike walk across the room of the gym she was interning for, she knew there was something about him.Ellie had flown back to Michigan in the summer of 2019 for an internship with her old strength and conditioning coach. Little did she expect to find the greatest man she had ever met working for the same coach. The first day she came to the gym, Ellie was sitting on the floor talking to some people and in walks this guy (yes it was Mike). As he walked across the gym all she thought to herself was wow...that guy is so hot!They started talking at the gym and she went home that night and stalked all over instagram trying to find him, only going off the information of his name being "Mike" (all you girls know this struggle). Her stalking efforts after many attempts were successful as she found Michael Haumesser!They spent every day around each other that summer and decided that they were willing to give their relationship a shot even as long distance when Ellie went back to California at the end of that summer. Little did they know that through all the ups and downs they faced with three and a half years of being long distance, hundreds of hours spent on facetime, Mike moving across the country to be with Ellie in California, to going back to long distance this year with Mike's new job, that they would end up here...GETTING MARRIED!!! We are so thankful to all of you, our close friends and family for being there for us during this crazy time in our relationship and supporting us. We are so excited for this weekend getaway to be able to celebrate our love for each other and for all of you!!!

There are two options for airports that are the closest. If you are flying domestically you can fly into either San Francisco International Airport (SFO) or Charles M. Schultz- Sonoma County Airport (STS). Not every airline flies into STS, the ones that do are Alaskan Airlines and American Airlines. If you are flying internationally, your only option is SFO.

Airports

The drive from the Sonoma County Airport is about 2 hours in total and the drive from SFO is about 3 hours 30 minutes. If you are flying in, we would recommend grouping together if you can and getting a rental car at the airport you are arriving into. Highway 128 is a quite windy road for the last hour or so of the drive. If you get car sick, please be aware and prepare ahead of time with medicine and drive slowly. We would also recommend to plan on driving during sun light hours to not have to deal with that road at night. It is a stunning drive however!

Heritage House Spa and Resort Hotel is located 8 minutes away from the Estate we will have our wedding at and is a true oasis on the California coast if you want to make this getaway a beautiful vacation to remember!

Mendocino Coast Lodge has a picturesque backdrop of the stunning Mendocino Coast and breathtaking ocean views. Price point is slightly cheaper than the Heritage House Resort and Spa. This hotel is a 5 minute drive from the Estate the wedding will be at and has a great farm to table restaurant that we ate at before!

One of the most picturesque towns in California, the Victorian Village of Mendocino is perched on a bluff on the ocean side of California Highway 1.In the front, it is surrounded on three sides by Mendocino Headlands State Park. In the back are Big River and redwoods.
