The Beginning of Forever
At Texas Tech University, Ellie was finishing her senior year, proudly serving as the Masked Rider. Over 400 miles away, Corbyn was stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana, serving in the U.S. Air Force.
Their friends deciding play matchmaker, sent Corbyn a picture of Ellie. As soon as Corbyn learned about Ellie, he didn’t hesitate. With complete certainty, he said, “This is my future wife.”
The First Meeting
After weeks of talking, the two met in Dallas, Texas. Ellie was there for a Masked Rider appearance. It was a Wednesday — a work night — but that didn’t stop Corbyn. He drove straight to Dallas after work just to meet her. They went to dinner, played basketball, and spent most of the night walking and talking. That night, Corbyn drove back and pulled an all-nighter to make it to work the next day. The spark had ignited.
On the Road
The distance couldn’t dim their connection. Corbyn started making regular trips to Lubbock to support Ellie at her events. Whether she was on horseback or behind the scenes, Corbyn was ready to support.
One particularly memorable visit came when he met Ellie’s family for the first time. While Ellie was being filmed for Texas Tech’s Capital Campaign, Corbyn spent six hours with her parents and younger sister. It was intimidating… but he passed with flying colors.
A Question of Forever
Their love deepened quickly and surely. In July, Corbyn asked Chad for his blessing to marry his daughter.
The Proposal
At the breathtaking Palo Duro Canyon, Corbyn got down on one knee and asked Ellie to be his forever. And she said yes.
The Journey Ahead
From that first meeting in Dallas to drives across Texas, from late-night talks to early morning goodbyes, theirs is a love story built on faith, laughter, and support.
This is just the beginning — the rest of their timeline is yet to be written.
