Our story 

﻿Our StoryIt all began our freshman year at Ohio Wesleyan University. Ellie was playing soccer, Jack was on the basketball team, and we crossed paths a few times that fall—but nothing too serious. That all changed over winter break after OWU played Wooster. We officially hung out for the first time that night... and something just clicked.The next day, Jack texted Ellie, and from that point on, we were inseparable. We spent nearly every day together until we had to head home due to COVID-19. Even with the world shutting down, we chose to keep seeing each other. We met each other's families, made memories in our hometowns, and somewhere along the way, Jack introduced Ellie around Bellefontaine as his “friend” (don’t worry, that changed soon enough!).On May 11, 2020, Jack officially asked Ellie to be his girlfriend—and the rest is history.We truly grew up together in college, balancing our sports and studies while making unforgettable memories with our best friends. Some of our favorite moments from those years include Ellie being the videographer for the OWU basketball team—she loved getting to support Jack at every game—and Jack’s favorite was taking walks around campus at night, unwinding together after long days.After graduating, life took us in different directions—Jack pursued his fifth year at Otterbein while Ellie started her teaching career in Dublin. That year apart was a turning point in our relationship—it tested us, strengthened us, and proved that we were in it for the long run.Once Jack finished at Otterbein, he moved back home, and we did “medium distance” for a while. Then, in December 2024, everything changed. While coaching a basketball game in Holland, Michigan (where Ellie’s family just happened to be celebrating Christmas), Jack pulled off the perfect surprise. After a cozy morning of shopping, he proposed to Ellie in her favorite town, on a snowy December day we’ll never forget.Soon after, Jack landed his dream job in Bexley, and we moved into what we now fondly call “the apartment.” On September 14th, we exchanged vows in a private ceremony with our immediate families—just us, just love, just perfect.Now, we can’t wait to celebrate with all our family and friends this July in one of our favorite places ever. It’s been an incredible journey—and we’re just getting started.

Our favorite restaurants to try would be, New Holland Brewing, Poquito, Hops at 84 East, Seventy Six, City Deli and Captain Sundae for dessert. If you are looking for a breakfast staple, go to Windmill Restaurant! A few of our favorite shops are Gliks, Spring Sweet, Cherry Republic, Holland Peanut Store, and Fustini's Oils and Vinegars.
