This is a fun neighborhood with a young vibe just east of downtown Rochester, and it's where Ellie lived when she and Matt met! Lots of sidewalk cafes, bars, restaurants, and eclectic shops. Some of our favorites: Vern's, Magnolia's (Obama ate here too), Dorado, Furoshiki, Half Pint Pub, Iron Tug Brewing, and Parkleigh (great for last minute wedding cards), to name just a few.
Minutes from where Ellie grew up and now minutes from Matt and Ellie’s apartment! Stroll along the Erie Canal, stop in local shops, and grab a bite to eat and drink. Some of our favorite places: Compané Trattoria for a yummy wood fired pizza, Lulu Taqueria for tasty tacos and margaritas, and FairPour for coffee and breakfast/lunch. If you’re looking for a drink and some live music, we love Iron Smoke and Fairport Brewing!
For kids of all ages! Fun and highly interactive museum devoted to the history and exploration of play. Within walking distance of downtown restaurants and breweries, including one of our favorites, Strangebird.
The world's oldest museum of photography located on the historic estate of the pioneer of popular photography and motion picture film (think 'Kodak').
The closest thing to a real beach in Rochester! Spread out a blanket on the sand, swim in Lake Ontario, or stroll around the harbor and village of Charlotte.
This large urban park and arboretum also has a conservatory and is a great place for a summer stroll. Afterwards, head a few blocks north to the South Wedge neighborhood for a bite and to check out the shops (e.g., Hedonist Artisan Ice Cream and Chocolates).
