Our first interaction with each other was love at first sight. It sparked from a family friend referral. We did not anticipate something so special to happen so easy! We first me at a bar in Downtown Roanoke. A few weeks later we went on our first date. We powered through a long distance relationship for a little over two years while making every minute together count! I Can’t wait to see what more God has in store for our relationship together!

Jensen Ford, my best friend from college and one of my bridesmaids, sent me a picture of Clayton and told me he was single. I thought he was really cute so I followed him on Instagram and he followed me right back. We met briefly for the first time at Sidewinder’s- the bar I used to line dance at every week- and he asked me on a date a few weeks later.

I knew Clay was the one from that first date and I remember it like it was yesterday. He was hanging out at his dad Craig and stepmom Christie’s house, so I left the wedding I was at and met him there. We sat on the porch and talked with them for awhile, and then drove to the Roanoke Star. We wanted to get DQ blizzards afterwards but they were closed so we went to McD’s. He asked me what I wanted and I said “a small Oreo McFlurry.” He ordered 2 mediums and winked at me.

My mom told me I had stars in my eyes the first time I told her about him! Clay brought everything to the table that I had appreciated about previous relationships plus all they were missing. We started dating six months after we met and two months after that, his job moved him 4 hours away. Finally, after dating long distance for two years, he took a new job to move back home. Our wedding date is just 2 weeks shy of our 4 year dating anniversary. Clay’s friends and family have quickly become my friends and family and I can’t wait to celebrate with everyone on our wedding day!
