Ross and Ellie's story begins way back in 2010, when they were both on USY on Wheels. They were on separate buses, but when Ellie saw Ross for the first time, she joked with friends that it was love at first sight. Seems like she was onto something there...In September 2011, Ross and Ellie officially met at USY International General Board Weekend. Ellie doesn't remember much of Ross there, but after that weekend, they started talking... and talking... and talking until they started dating! The couple made it official at Hagalil Prom, on March 3, 2012.

Ross and Ellie both ended up at the joint program between Columbia University and the Jewish Theological Seminary. They lived on the same floor during freshman year, attended Shabbat dinners together in the JTS dorms, went to the same parties because of Greek life, visited each other while studying abroad in different countries, and most importantly, spent time continuing to nourish their relationship and build on their foundation of love for each other.

After graduating, Ross and Ellie's love and commitment to each other continued to grow! They supported each other through the transition of working in the real world (well, Ellie was the only one who really needed support here, ha!). They moved in together and loved sharing special moments with friends and family in their apartment. They gracefully adjusted to the changes that law school brought for Ellie (wellllll, really only Ross was graceful here). But, the bottom line is that they were there for each other.The commitment to each other has only strengthened when Ross moved to Cambridge for Harvard (!!!). Now, Ellie loves traveling up to Cambridge to spend time in a new city with Ross's incredible new friends. Ross loves to come back to NYC to spend time with Ellie, her family, and his family... but he will always tell you that he hates the drive!

Following a trip to Palm Springs with Ross's family, the couple went to Seattle for some more vacation time! As soon as Ellie and Ross were discussing Seattle, Ellie INSISTED (begged, pleaded, etc.) that they visit Snoqualmie Falls. This was where her favorite TV show was filmed: Twin Peaks! When Ross acquiesced (but really was secretly planning ahead), he invited Dillon (his best friend from high school who lives in Seattle) to join them for the day. Ellie had no idea that Dillon would play such a big role in the proposal!After a rocky morning start, the group made it out to Snoqualmie. When they approached the lookout point for the falls, Ross asked Dillon if he could take some pictures of them. Of course, Ellie was so excited for pictures in this place she was dying to visit! But in that moment, Ross fumbled around inside his coat, got on one knee, and popped the question. Ross talked about being together for so long and wanting to spend the rest of his life with Ellie. In this same moment, Ellie blacked out, and it is unclear whether she actually said yes.For the couple, this was easily the best moment of their lives! They celebrated for the next few days in Seattle, and continued relishing in their newly engaged bliss in Cuba. They are excited to share the celebrations with you!
