August 1, 2026

We understand traveling to an island takes some extra coordination and planning. If this is a barrier for you, we'd love to help. Please feel free to text Michael (205.246.2297) or Ellie (616.405.7649) with any questions.

When do I need to RSVP?

As soon as possible! Unlike many weddings, we're hoping you'll stay for the weekend. The sooner we know you're coming, the sooner we can accommodate your preferences and pricing needs.

Where do I stay?

See the travel page! If you're concerned about accommodations, please reach out to Michael or Ellie and we can help you navigate alternative options.

Are we CAMPING?

Nope! You are welcome to camp if you'd prefer it, but we have enough lodging (cabins, lodge rooms, yurts with hot tubs, etc) for everyone.

Do I need a car on the island?

It's highly recommended! While the wedding ceremony and reception are both at Lakedale, there's a lot to see on the island and limited public transportation and Uber/Lyfts. Between the drive to the ferry, the drive to Lakedale, and the flexibility you'll want while on San Juan Island, car makes most sense!

Will the wedding be outside?

Yep! Both the ceremony and reception are outside. San Juan Island weather in August is usually pristine--not too hot but sunny!

What is the dress code?

While we are at a 'camp' for the weekend, we LOVE dressing up. Formal attire encouraged!

Can I bring my kids?

We are unable to accommodate children aside from a few close family members named on invitations. Thank you for your understanding!

Are there other events during the weekend?

More details to come! Join us for a welcome event Friday evening! As everyone is staying at Lakedale, we anticipate bonfires, volleyball, and all sorts of activities throughout the weekend.
