Dress Code

We chose to have our wedding on the Schoodic Peninsula for its beautiful and wild backdrop but we recognize that it comes with the trade-off of tricky travel. We are so grateful to you all for making the trek to be with us! Here are some lodging ideas to consider:- Search around Winter Harbor for Inns, Bed-and-Breakfasts, and AirBnBs about 15-20 minutes from the venue.-Bar Harbor is a bit of a drive (1 hour) but is a beautiful setting with plenty of lodging and things to do!

We have a limited block of rooms being held until July 15. The website button below will take you straight to the booking site for our block. You can also call them at 207-288-5823 and mention the Nauert-Monck wedding.The Best Western is a 1-hour drive from the Schoodic Institute (wedding venue) and 5 miles from Bar Harbor town center. There is a free bus with a stop at Bar Harbor Campgrounds, just down the street, that will take you into Bar Harbor.

Best Western Acadia Park Inn

Located on the same property as our venue, there are a limited number of 2-bedroom apartments available. They are nothing fancy but they are the most convenient location you can find! Please call Megan Moshier at the Schoodic Institute to book a room: 207-288-1337. Room availability is not guaranteed so reach out to her soon if you are interested!

Schoodic Shores Apartments

Ninety percent of campsites are released six months in advance on the first of each month at 10 am EST. The remaining 10 percent are released at 10 am 14 days ahead of a desired arrival date on a rolling basis. All campsite reservations must be made in advance at Recreation.gov. All sites (except for group sites and hike-in sites) have electric, and B-Loop sites have electric and water. Flush toilets, potable running water, and a dump station are provided, as are picnic tables and fire rings in each site. There are no showers in the campground.

The closest airport to the venue, approximately 1.5 hours away.

Bangor International Airport

The next closest airport, not to be confused with Portland International Airport in Oregon. Approximately 3.5 hours from the venue.

Travel fare free around Acadia National Park, Mt. Desert Island, and the Schoodic Peninsula on the Island Explorer.

Island Explorer

Cruise between Winter Harbor and Bar Harbor on a 45-minute passenger ferry ride. You could even use this to get to the Schoodic Institute for the wedding! You would need to take the 1:30pm ferry at the latest. Also, there are no return ferry trips at night so this option would require you to arrange a ride back with other guests if we don't secure a shuttle bus.
