Elyse was working at Orchard Supply Hardware for the summer before going back to college in South Dakota. One day, as she was taking items back, Brian from plumbing helped her, saying maybe 5 words, find where an item was supposed to be. That was the end of our first conversation. A few days later for the opening shift, Elyse is waiting for the doors to open as she sees Brian ride in on his motorcycle. Once again, Elyse makes the first move by talking about Brian's bike. A few conversations later, a date to ride to the beach was made. As summer came to an end, Elyse went away to school. Brian and Elyse didn't officially start dating until that following May.

After two years of dating, Elyse thought that it was time for the parents to meet each other. Elyse planned a dinner at an Italian restaurant. As Brian's mom and step-dad entered, both mom's say "I know you." APPARENTLY, Brian and I went to church together when we were kids. Neither of us remember each other specifically. The rest of dinner was spent with the parents talking about times at the church.
