October 2, 2019: Elyse messaged Sam on Bumble. We talked about common interests and work and all Sam's volunteering and agreed to go on a date!

October 16, 2019: Our first date at the Anchor bar in Grand Rapids. Elyse came after a 12 hour ER shift and wore scrubs but still got a second date!

December 25, 2019: Elyse had to work Christmas in the ER. Sam surprised her with a Christmas dinner of homemade tacos after her shift and asked Elyse to be his girlfriend.

February 2020: We celebrated our first Valentine's day on a cruise together and returned just before everything shut down.

Spring 2020: We celebrated birthdays at home with the Gryniewicz sisters with kitchen dance parties and Netflix marathons.

Summer 2020: Elyse introduced Sam to the Gryniewicz family's second home in Ludington.

November 2020: We visited Sam's family in Massachusetts where Elyse met everyone for the first time.

February 2021: We celebrated our second Valentine's day in Miami, FL, one of Sam's favorite vacation spots from childhood.

April 2021: We went on our first big vacation with the Gryniewicz family in Panama City Beach, FL.

May 2021: We went caving in Kentucky and loved it!

July 4, 2021: Sam proposed to Elyse in Ludington. We were sitting in the hammock talking, and he caught Elyse completely by surprise!

August 2021: Elyse moved into Sam's house in Wayland when Sam started the police academy at Grand Valley.

July 30, 2022: Sam and Elyse are married!
