While Elyse was finishing graduate school, she was waitressing and bartending at Duffer's Tavern with all of her friends. Thomas would come in night after night, and they would only say hello and then go about their separate nights. One night, Elyse sat down and spoke with Thomas for a while, and after that the rest is history. They spent time getting to know one another, and Elyse fell in love with Izobel the dog, the cats at the Jaagus house, and shortly after.... Thomas!
