We both met at university, and as we spent little time together due to different timetables, we soon met up for a meal each week. On the first week, Elle introduced Stevie to the local metal bar, The Hairy Dog, which we soon became regulars of, our record being 6 times in a week (as the typical uni students we were).

After 6 weeks of this routine, Stevie asked Elle out on Friday the 13th of May 2022. This was the start of our official story.

We both moved into separate accommodation however, after two months, Stevie moved into Elle's flat (illegally) and soon a flat of two became three. A massive thank you to our close friend and room mate Bri for putting up with us.

Come July 1st 2023, we moved into our first home and soon grew our little family with two rescue kittens named Mr. Keith Tickles and Mr. Karl Squishles. We absolutely love and adore them, when they are not confused about what is and isn't a litter tray (which has, for the most part, been resolved).

Due to the year of 2023 providing a Friday the 13th in October, we decided in January to get each other commitment rings to commemorate our relationship. However, by the second half of 2023, after some challenging months that strengthened our relationship, we thought, fuck it why not, and started planning our wedding - with the 13th of October becoming decidedly the date to exchange and wear our rings.

We booked our venue end of September prior to the 'engagement' and soon after eagerly booked our vendors. This was after numerous debacles with wedding fairs, including repetitively hearing the question 'Who's the Bride?'. After all of this, we found our vendors.

In June 2024, we moved to a more permanent flat in Sheffield at the amazing Park Hill, and we couldn't be more excited about living here.

After a long 3 years, we graduated on July 17th 2024. Elle changed their name to our soon-to-be-shared surname.

We decided to move the legal wedding forward, as this provided more legal protection but most importantly, the tax benefits! On the 13th of August 2024, we had an intimate ceremony with two close friends as witnesses and our parents; if we have any Twilight fans, we share the same anniversary date as Edward and Bella! We are proud to be able to get married 10 years after queer marriage was enacted in 2014.

We now look forward to our big wedding bash with you all to celebrate our amazing families and wonderful friends, but most importantly, ourselves.
