Our story began in a way that can only be described as UNIQUE! (If you know, you know!)

On a chilly day on the 23rd of November, 2021, Elysse contemplated whether or not to call out of work, a day ahead of Thanksgiving break. She decided to come in anyways, and when she walked into the UNIQUE office that day, she encountered a new face - Jacob!

That day, Elysse and Jacob's mutual friend James brought Jacob to meet the UNIQUE crew. Jacob decided to spend some time at Sac State as a student during his Thanksgiving break. Immediately, Jacob was ready to join UNIQUE as a volunteer upon hearing Elysse's spiel about how to get involved.

After a day of hanging out, faking a conversation in French and making each other laugh, Jacob asked Elysse if he could join the club's Secret Santa gift exchange.

Elysse didn't want to leave Jacob out, AND she wanted an opportunity to chat with him again. She proposed that they become each others' "Secret Santa." One Starbucks gift exchange date later, they were inseparable. The rest is history!
