Mason and Emalee's story begins in the fall of 2022, when life brought two people together at exactly the right moment. Neither of them expected anything extraordinary — but from their very first date at Busara, one of Mason’s favorite Thai restaurants, something just clicked. The conversation flowed easily, the attraction was pretty much instant, and both of them knew there was something special happening.

Over the next week they spent more time together, learning each other’s quirks, hopes, and humor. Mason after bout a week asked, in a somewhat blunt and honest way, “So… I was wondering... if you're interested, would you want to date?” And from that moment, they did.

They fell in love quietly at first, then quickly, all at once. Emalee drove up from Anacortes two or three times a week just to see Mason, because being together simply felt right. Life hadn’t always been simple for either of them, but with each other, things finally felt possible. They made each other laugh, made each other feel wanted, and found a genuine desire to understand the person in front of one another.

They went out often — talking for hours over their favorite food — and enjoying every moment they shared. Mason always told Emalee that she was beautiful beyond belief (sometimes too much) Emalee insisted he was handsome (even though he’ll joke that he’s only a B+). Nothing is perfect, they faced disagreements like any couple does, but always came from a place of respect, honesty, and love, to the best of their abilities; because they are two different people who choose each other wholeheartedly.

In 2024 Emalee and Mason traveled together to Belize for two unforgettable weeks, and it only deepened what they already knew — they are best when they are together. They have always had each other’s backs, always surprised each other, always supported and cared for one another. Mason loves taking care of her; Emalee shows her love through her incredible baking, her kindness, and her constant effort to give her best. And Mason only wants to give that right back.

Two people who once wondered if they’d ever find something real ended up finding everything they hoped for, in each other.
