Our story has been a chapter book that covers the span almost 8 years.

We both grew up in Prince William County, Virginia, about 15 minutes away from each other. We even went to the same high school! But despite the lack of distance between us, it was not until Virginia Tech that we formally met. I recognized him from being on the morning announcements in high school when we were first introduced to each other by a friend, but knew nothing about him otherwise.

The beginning of our relationship is one that belongs as a rom-com plot. Our friendship started in an unconventional way, with Tyler having a crush on one of my friends. Through that, we became close and when that crush faded, I realized the big crush in the picture was mine on Tyler. Something that he was none the wiser to.

After dropping hints... a lot of hints... our friendship started to turn into something more. Within a couple of months we were each other's person. We spent as much time together as we could and quickly realized we liked doing everything together. We not only became each other's date to date parties and football games, but also each other's shoulder and safe space.

There have been ups and downs throughout the years, but there is no one we would rather have spent these last almost 8 years with and no one besides each other we would rather spend forever with... well each other and our cat, Gilligan.
