Not many people can say they fell in love in Kindergarten. Few yet can say they got married. Yet, this is what we did. Comfortable in our own skins by the time we were writing our names in crooked letters we became fast friends so much so that in our housekeeping corner play area our friends threw us a mock wedding. However, we didn’t actually start dating till we were in 5th grade and Thomas nervously gave me a little dog he purchased from the book fair at school. As much as that meant at the time we ended up going our separate ways for a while because I found out that boys do in fact have “cooties.”

In high school, Thomas decided to style his hair like Justin Bieber and I thought that was super cute so I agreed to attend Homecoming as his date with another couple that encouraged us to all go together. We talked and talked after that event and eventually Thomas asked me to be his girlfriend over Snap Chat while I was on a family vacation. Thomas still tells me he asked me in person after I got back from that vacation but I can’t remember. Either way, we were official a couple and did all the couple things couples did.

Attending different colleges we solidified our relationship through every other weekend visits and letters. We did break up briefly twice, but decided that we were better together so after I graduated our story continued as we moved together to Minnesota to make our home.

After all this time together, Thomas asked me to marry him one night when I returned home from work. I of course said yes and on June 29, 2024 we will officially be together Forever Always.
